As any artist or artistically inclined person knows, inspiration in completely essential to being able to create new and fresh work. Given the difficulties of being just that, however, it is sometimes easy to get down. Oh, the highs and lows of art. Thus, this is a place of inspirational. As always, suggestions are more than welcome.
TED:
I simply love TED. Here I go giving advice that I don’t even follow (though I should), but if everyone watched a TED video every day, our world would be a much, much better place. Notable talks are from Elizabeth Gilbert (author of “Eat, Pray, Love”) and Steve Jobs (the Apple genius), among many other notables. Check out some TED Talks for yourself here.
PEOPLE:
Among the past’s many recognized minds, there are a few in particular who I bee-line to when I’m in need of a creative lift. Joseph Campbell talks of “finding your bliss”.
Martha Graham: is a genius.
Graham was a dancer and choreographer who is most well know for her participation in the start of modern dance in the USA. Definitely a pioneer. To this day she has a company filled with phenomenal dancers, and an entire technique of modern dance to speak of. Definitely an important and historical name in dance.
